NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — The case against a man accused of shooting and killing a co-worker at Niagara Metals is heading to a grand jury.

Matthew Figura Jr. 35, who allegedly shot Patrick DeLuca at work last Thursday, faced a judge Tuesday.

A Niagara Falls police detective testified at the hearing, claiming Figura had been threatening to DeLuca.

The detective said Figura admitted to firing two shots. After the shooting, the detective said Figura was driving on North Grand Island Bridge and threw the gun into the Niagara River.

He also alleged that Figura talked about medication he was on and mentioned people were following him.

Figura is charged with second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
