BUFFALO, N.Y. — Western New York baseball fans waited 106 years to watch a major league game in Buffalo, and you could say the Toronto/Buffalo Blue Jays made it worth the wait.
Slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. smashed a pitch out of the ballpark in the third inning, a three-run home run that cleared the wall to give the Jays a 3-0 lead. At the time, it also gave Vlad the major league home run lead.
The final score saw the Jays win their first Buffalo home game of the year against the Marlins, 5-1.
The Jays will try to sweep their two game series against the Marlins tonight at 7 p.m. at Sahlen Field.
