BUFFALO, N.Y. — With the need for technology access bigger than ever due to the coronavirus pandemic, Spectrum is doing its part to help close that gap in the community.

The cable company on Wednesday presented a $10,000 donation to the Delavan Grider Community Center to support technology needs in the facility's computer room.

Buffalo leaders say Spectrum's donation ensures that residents of all ages have the remote learning tools they need to be successful such as virtual learning for students and applying for employment for adults, despite the impact COVID-19 has had on Western New York.

"As we move through COVID, we are thankful and grateful we can provide broadband internet, the ability to come in and update resumes, the option to use a computer to job search,” said Candace Moppins, Delavan Grider Community Center executive director.

"It's our mission to build stronger communities, making a positive impact for our employees and customers who live and work in the Western New York area,” said Mark Meyerhofer, Charter Communications senior director of government affairs.

"They have been a good corporate citizen, partnering with the city and agencies in our community in a variety of different ways,” said Byron Brown, (D) Buffalo mayor.

Spectrum is owned by Charter Communications, the parent company of this news channel.
