CLARENCE, NY – The annual World Pumpkin Weigh-off takes place over the weekend at the Great Pumpkin Farm as part of their 25th annual Fall Festival.
Judging begins at 12 p.m. on October 3. Winners will be announced and prizes awarded as soon as all the entries have been officially weighed. The owner of the heaviest pumpkin at the World Pumpkin Weigh-off will take home the top prize of $1,000. They can win five times that amount and earn a world record if their pumpkin weighs more than 2,624 pounds. Cash prizes will also be awarded for second through sixth places.
Last year’s winner was Karl Haist of Clarence Center, New York, whose pumpkin weighed in at 2,269 pounds.
This weekend is also Dinosaurs in the Corn Maze Weekend, which features animatronic dinosaurs roaming the corn maze both days from noon until 4 p.m.
