BUFFALO, N.Y. — YMCA Buffalo Niagara has revealed the 125 people randomly selected to run in this year's scaled-down live Turkey Trot on Thanksgiving morning.

Usually, the event sees 14,000 trotters each year. The small pool of live runners selected for this year's race will need to follow all COVID-19 guidelines.

The 125 people selected honor this year's 125th race. If you are not chosen, you can still participate in the Turkey Trot in other ways.

"You can participate through the Racejoy app, or support one of the live runners," YMCA Buffalo Niagara Financial Development Vice President Mario Hicks said. "Again, whether that's to promote them through social media, help them in their fundraising efforts, or train with them in a socially distant manner."
