WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. — More issues coming out of the Williamsville Central School District — this time with staffing levels.

More teachers were needed to staff the original plan that included both hybrid and fully remote options after more than 100 resigned or took leaves of absences over the district's handling of its reopening process.

Now that all middle and high school students will be fully remote, the district says it doesn't need all the people who signed up to help.

The district released a statement on the issue saying:

“Due to the changes in the instructional model, 43 candidates were not recommended for approval to the Board of Education. However, we are considering them for future positions in the District. We understand this is an unfortunate situation."
