Despite Canalfest and Gateway Series both being postponed this year because of the pandemic, one local man is spreading a little bit of cheer from the water in the Tonawandas.

An accordion player decided to hop in a boat and throw a socially distanced celebration down the Niagara River into the Erie Canal.

"We're together trying to explore meaning, spread some more cheer with the community of the city of North Tonawanda. As well the city of Tonawanda," accordion player Mark Swogier said.

Swogier previously played polka music at the North Tonawanda Farmers Market.
