Two vital services that helps feed thousands across Erie, Niagara, Cattaraugus and Chautauqua counties have officially merged into one organization.
The Food Bank of Western New York and Meals on Wheels have completed a 10-month merger, and with that comes a new look.
But even with a new name and logo, the mission will remain the same for FeedMore of Western New York.
The new name says it all, with the non-profit looking to feed even more people in the community.
After decades of collaborating as partners, the two organizations determined they'd be able to better serve those in need by coming together.
Now as FeedMore, there will be even more programs to look forward to.
This includes the home-delivered meal program that will see a significant expansion in the next few weeks in Niagara County.
Right now, 50 residents are getting meals delivered through this service, but starting January 27, that number will be growing to 500 additional residents.
This is just the beginning of what's to come.
"We had really great programs in place with Meals on Wheels and Food Bank, and to continue to grow these programs and make new initiatives like our summer backpack program, a grocery program that we're soon going to be offering to our older community members and a workforce development program, we're going to be able to build on the synergies from the two organizations, build on our talent and resources to make sure that no one in our community has to go hungry," said Catherine Shick, director of communications for FeedMore WNY.
By feeding more, that means more volunteers are needed as well.
