An inmate who attempted suicide at the Erie County Holding Center over the weekend has died.

Erie County Legislator April Baskin confirmed Robert Ingalsbe is the fourth person to die at the holding center in the past four months.

The Erie County Sheriff's Office on Saturday said that Ingalsbe was brought to the center Thursday on a second-degree robbery charge.

Deputies said when they saw Inhgalsbe attempted suicide Friday, he was taken to an area hospital.

When asked about Ingalsbe’s death, the department referred back to its statement from Saturday and provided no further information.
