Another call for Bishop Richard Malone's resignation is resurfacing.

This time from a group called The People of the Diocese of Buffalo, New York.

This group started an online petition one year ago requesting the bishop's immediate resignation, saying "Just as clergy must resign when found guilty of sexual crimes and sins perpetrated under the guide of holiness and authority, so must this bishop resign for being a silent accomplice in these crimes and sins committed by clergy in the Diocese of Buffalo."

As of Monday morning, the petition has more than 9,600 signatures.

Calls for Bishop Malone to resign intensified after recordings of him were leaked last week by his secretary, Ryzard Biernat.

Biernat recorded several staff meetings where Malone expressed concern about sexual misconduct allegations by former Christ the King seminarian Matthew Bojanowski against Cheektowaga priest Fr.  Jeff Nowak.

Malone reiterated on Friday, during an interview on WBEN, that he would not be resigning before his 75th birthday.
