Crews worked around the clock on Friday to set the stage for the National Buffalo Wing Festival, preparing to feed the thousands expected to flock to Sahlen Field this weekend.
But what's the wing festival without 25 tons of wings.
This year, 25 restaurants will be serving up more than 100 different sauces.
For Taj Siwatu, it's his first time at the Wing Fest and in Buffalo.
He's come all the way from the Virgin Islands and just barely dodged Hurricane Dorian when traveling up north.
As a sushi chef he's always getting creative and wanted to apply sauce he makes for sushi to chicken wings.
"The firework sauce was originally topped off on one of my roles called the firework so it's not as spicy as you would think,” he said. “It's more sweet and savory, it has a little kick. It's kind of on the creamy side but it's really nice it's like I said not too hot so a lot more people can try it. Then on the other hand I've done an atomic wing, so that of course is the hot one so I wanted to give a little contrast, have a hot, have a sweet just so everybody could try it.”
These are just some of the wings waiting to be enjoyed this weekend at Wing Fest.
It runs Saturday from noon to 9 p.m. and noon to 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Admission is $5 but free for kids 8 and under.
Tickets to try the wings are $1 each, and each ticket will purchase one wing.
