A 17-year-old boy has died following a double shooting on Briscoe Avenue in Buffalo.

It happened shortly after midnight Saturday.

Police say a 15-year-old was also shot. He was treated at a nearby hospital and released.

Investigators have not identified either victim. However, sources say the 17-year-old was Paul Humphrey, a student at Bishop Timon High School. 

The school said online Humphrey had just finished his sophomore year and played running back as well as linebacker on the school's varsity football team. A prayer service will be held in his honor at 10 a.m. Monday on the school's front lawn. Counselors will also be available throughout the day.
