The International Joint Commission confirms Lake Ontario water levels will match and could exceed 2017's record levels within days.
Outflow from the lake has been increasing for nearly two weeks and, combined with wet weather forecasted for the next few days, could bring the lake above 2017's water levels, according to officials.
So far, Lake Ontario water levels have reached 248 feet and 9.5 inches, just an inch short of 2017's highest water level.
Newly installed IJC commissioners are expected to meet with local leaders and tour the shoreline in Greece on Tuesday, while the new IJC commissioners will be speaking with reporters in Buffalo earlier in the day.
