An Evans Fire Police Officer is recovering after being dragged by a car this weekend.
It happened while the officer was directing traffic around an accident at the intersection of Versailles Plank and Smith Road on Saturday.
According to the Evans Center Volunteer Fire Company, a driver disregarded the officer's signals and instead hit the gas. The driver dragged the officer then sped off.
The officer, who has not been identified, was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries and has since been released.
The incident remains under investigation by the Town of Evans Police Department. It's still unclear if the driver has been found.
