It’s the latest shift in the long-awaited mixed-use development on Ellicott Street.

Braymiller Market announced it will open a downtown grocery store.

The company is based in the southtowns and has a single store in Hamburg, known for selling fresh produce and specialty food items.

The original plan released several years ago called for Tops to bring its Orchard Fresh Market as an anchor tenant to the building at 201 Ellicott.

That plan fell through, opening the door for Braymiller Market.

The market will be a key component in the city of Buffalo and the Ciminelli Real Estate Corporation's housing development project.

Braymiller Market is expected to add 65 full and part time employees when it opens in spring 2021.

There's a meeting scheduled for 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Bank of America building at Main and Huron streets to provide the community with an update on the project.
