Despite a rough forecast, some volunteers were making a difference in the Northtowns.

The Town of Tonawanda Neighborhood Watch gave some TLC from the stretch between Brighton Road to the town and city line.

It was all part of a beautification and clean-up of the towns Rails to Trails.

Volunteers were clearing brush, debris, and sprucing up flower beds.

This is just phase 1 of the project.

While this all about making the community around them look a little nicer, volunteers say this also keeps people active during this pandemic.

"I think this town really appreciates what the town did," said Nicole Germain, co-coordinator of Town of Tonawanda Neighborhood Watch. "There's a sense of fellowship."
