As the heatwave continues, local doctors say we all need to be on the lookout for symptoms of dehydration, heat exhaustion, and heatstroke.

The people who are most at risk are infants, toddlers, and people over 65. But health experts say anyone can succumb to heat-related illness.

Symptoms include feeling dizzy or nauseous, excessive sweating, cool and clammy skin, as well as muscle cramps.

Heatstroke symptoms to watch out for include a throbbing headache, a lack of sweating, and dry skin that's hot to the touch.

It's a good idea to stay hydrated with water, limit your time outside, and find a place with air conditioning such as the recently designated cooling centers at public libraries in Buffalo and Erie County.
