BUFFALO, N.Y. — As ballots continue to be counted, people want to know who the winner is. Some even say they are losing sleep over it. And now groups are making sure every vote is counted, but not all will be happy with the results of this election.
Both the Workers World Party and the Green Party of Erie County came together on Wednesday. They say they believe no matter the outcome, people lose.
They're expressing the need for change concerning many issues, including the two-party system. Other groups, such as Showing Up for Racial Justice, also held a post-election day meeting to make sure all ballots are counted.
"The top 1% keep getting richer while the 99% keep getting porer. We need to fight for those people. We need to fight for the people who are not being served by the two corporate parties," said Sandy Przybylak, vice chair of the Erie County Green Party.
The groups plan to mobilize again, saying they believe protesting is just as important as voting, and they've seen it bring about change.
