BUFFALO, N.Y. — Buffalo police say six officers are recovering after a pursuit involving a 16-year-old driver.

Newly released surveillance video shows officers stopping the vehicle at a gas station on Bailey Avenue and Langfield late Monday night. Police say the vehicle was reported as stolen.

When officers tried to get everyone out of the car, police say the 16-year-old driver put the car in reverse, dragging and injuring Lieutenant Nicole Santiago. Police say the teen driver then swerved into the path of an oncoming vehicle, causing that car to hit a police vehicle, injuring two more officers.

The pursuit ended near Peach and Best streets when the suspect hit a parked car.

Police say the driver then took off running. During the ensuing foot chase, two more officers were reportedly injured and a lieutenant was also hurt during the arrest.

The 16-year-old is facing a slew of charges, including felony assault of a police officer and fleeing a police officer in a vehicle.

Authorities say all six officers suffered non-life threatening injuries, and they are expected to recover.
