A former state senator will be heading to prison next week.

The U.S. Attorney's Office tells Spectrum News that Marc Panepinto will report for his sentence on March 13.

In December, a federal judge gave him two months in federal prison for attempting to cover up unwanted sexual advances toward a female staffer.

He was also fined by the Joint Commission on Public Ethics and the Legislative Ethics Commission.

Panepinto served the state Senate's 60th district from 2015 through 2016.
