The Buffalo Catholic Diocese has released new rules and regulations for when churches are able to reopen for mass.
According to the list created by Acting Bishop Edward Scharfenberger, in addition to social distancing between pews, masks must be worn by all parishioners - and can only be removed when receiving communion.
When communion is being offered, it can only be placed in a hand, not on the tongue.
Holy water will no longer be offered when entering the church - those bowls will be emptied and covered.
Hymn books will also be removed from pews until further notice.
