There are 591 coronavirus-related deaths and 6,699 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Erie County, according to the county Department of Health on Saturday.
Commissioner of Health Dr. Gale Burstein says if someone believes they could have been exposed to the virus, they should try and be aware of how they’re feeling, which includes taking their temperatures regularly.
Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz is asking people to limit non-essential travel, especially if people are feeling ill.
“Practice responsible social distancing and self-quarantine,” he said. “Assume you have been somewhere which has been exposed to COVID-19.”
