BUFFALO, N.Y. — Veterans headed to Washington, D.C. on Saturday for the Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight.

For the first time ever, they’re taking a service dog with them.

‘Stan’ will join veterans as they spend the day visiting our nation's memorials.

"So, it was a surprise when they found out that I am going and I'm thrilled to be going," Vietnam Army veteran Dennis Behm said. "I think it's great for honor flight to be able to do this for the veterans. It's special."

The group will return Saturday night where they’ll be welcomed home at the airport at 10:30 p.m.
