BUFFALO, N.Y. — There has been an update in the ongoing bankruptcy case for the Buffalo Catholic Diocese.
A federal judge has ordered the diocese to start mediated negotiations with its insurers, parishes, schools and creditors.
More than 900 people accused priests and employees of sexual abuse.
The diocese first filed for bankruptcy in February 2020.
Since then, it has spent more than $7 million in legal and professional fees.
