In the wake of all the clergy sex abuse cases within the Catholic Church, Bishop Malone is welcoming the apostolic visitation and review of the Diocese by another bishop.

Bishop Richard Malone on Thursday welcomed Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of Brooklyn, a visit that was coordinated by the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, D.C.

Bishop Malone has agreed to cooperate fully and says that this visitation is for the good of the Church in Buffalo.

The purpose is to assist the Diocese and improve the local Church’s ability serve its people.

The Buffalo Diocese ended the announcement by saying:

"The mission of the Church in Buffalo continues to be to seek justice and compassion for the victim-survivors of sexual abuse."
