Who will the Bills take with the 22nd pick in the 2020 NFL Draft? Greg Vorse projects the first round in the second edition of this year's mock draft.
1 of 32
1.) Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Burrow, QB, LSU
Cincinnati has a lot of needs, but nothing is more important than the franchise QB and Burrow is coming off the best college season ever.

2.) Washington Redskins: Chase Young, DE, Ohio State
Young is the best player in the draft and it’s not close. Washington can add a gold jacket to an already solid defense when handing in this card.

3.) Detroit Lions: Jeff Okudah, CB, Ohio State
Lions' secondary is falling apart, but Okudah would be a huge piece of long-lasting duct tape in the back seven.

4.) NY Giants: Isaiah Simmons, LB, Clemson
Giants need a lot, and Simmons — an athletic freak — can do a lot.

5.) Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama
It sounds like Tua’s medical issues are getting better and better. Miami shouldn’t mess around and get the closest thing they’ve had to a franchise QB this century.

6.) LA Chargers: Justin Herbert, QB, Oregon
LA has already decided to move off Phillip Rivers and Herbert is the best QB on the board. Sign him up and see what he can do with a pretty good set of skill players.

7.) Carolina Panthers: Jedrick Wills Jr., OT, Alabama
Panthers are saying they wanna keep Cam Newton and a healthy Cam would be nice. Protect him and Christian McCaffrey at all costs.

8.) Arizona Cardinals: CeeDee Lamb, WR, Oklahoma
Kyler Murray is the future and he wants to dip into a past teammate with the Sooners as his top target. Make the QB you picked #1 happy.

9.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Tristan Wirfs, OT, Iowa
Wirfs' tape says he’s a bit of an athletic freak and the combine backed that up. Jags have a lot of needs, but getting your LT for the next decade makes too much sense.

10.) Cleveland Browns: Mekhi Becton, OL, Louisville
Size + athleticism + Baker needs protection = make the pick Cleveland.

11.) NY Jets: Jerry Jeudy, WR, Alabama
Jets' offense was more than stagnant around Sam Darnold last year, so adding arguably the best WR in the class is a nice pickup at 11.

12.) Las Vegas Raiders: Henry Ruggs III, WR, Alabama
The first pick of Las Vegas has an Al Davis feel as they get the burner from Bama. Ruggs will be able to get open for any QB the Raiders deploy.

13.) Indianapolis Colts: Jordan Love, QB, Utah State
Frank Reich gets the QB with the biggest arm and some athleticism to go with it and Love lands with a great offense to grow in.

14.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Derrick Brown, DT, Auburn
Tampa’s defense was sneaky good the last half of last year and they shore up the middle with Brown, who could easily go top 10 despite a less than stellar combine.

15.) Denver Broncos: Javon Kinlaw, DT, South Carolina
Denver doesn’t necessarily need DL help, but the Raiders sniped their WR and Kinlaw’s talent says to take him here.

16.) Atlanta Falcons: K’Lavin Chaisson, EDGE, LSU.
The Falcons always seem to need help along the front seven and Chaisson is a freak that can get after whatever QBs are left in the NFL South.

17.) Dallas Cowboys: CJ Henderson, CB, Florida
Speed + sticky is a great combo of a corner. Especially one who has to deal with three teams with young(ish) franchise QBs.

18.) Miami Dolphins: Andrew Thomas, OT, Georgia
Miami took Tua at #5 and we know injury is his biggest detractor; protect him at all costs.

19.) Las Vegas Raiders: Kenneth Murray, LB, Oklahoma
Vegas’ defense has some young pieces to build on from last year and they add the best LB in Murray.

20.) Jacksonville Jaguars: Kristian Fulton, CB, LSU
Fulton can turn the lights back on in the Jacksonville DB room after all their top pieces were traded.

21.) Philadelphia Eagles: Tee Higgins, WR, Clemson
Eagles need high-end targets for Carson Wentz and Higgins is just that. Standing 6’4”, 215 lbs. he should be their #1.

22.) Buffalo Bills: Justin Jefferson, WR, LSU
I had Jefferson as a fringe first-rounder before the combine and all he did was blow up with a 4.43 while going 6’1", 202 lbs. Josh Allen has some nice complementary pieces in Brown and Beasley, but Jefferson adds the top flight skills to be a true #1. He had 18 touchdowns in the Tigers' championship season, including four in the semis vs Oklahoma. It was clear Burrow was willing to let it fly and have Jefferson go and get it — that’s what Allen needs to do to crack the magical 300-yard mark to make and take another step.
I do believe some solid WRs will be available at 54 so waiting could be an option, but with four off the board already Beane doesn’t need to get cute.
I also could see Beane moving up if he really likes Jeudy or Lamb. He has traded up three times in the first round in just two seasons and with the Bills' holes shrinking he has some draft capital to maneuver.
Jon Scott's Thoughts: While wide receiver remains the likely route the Bills go at 22, Sean McDermott opened the door to another position with some of his comments at last week’s NFL Combine. McDermott wouldn’t commit to Cody Ford staying at tackle. If the Bills decide Ford is better suited kicking in to guard, there’s a hole anchoring the right side that needs to be filled. As the board falls here, Houston’s Josh Jones is the best available.
Andy Young's Thoughts: This pick fits a certain position where the Bills (and many fans) would like to upgrade. Jefferson could be flying up draft boards after he flew through the 40 in 4.3. His production last season with Joe Burrow jumps off the page and has the size to go with it that so many scouts love to see. Edge rusher and offensive tackle could certainly be in play here at No. 22, especially since the WR class is so deep. I liked what I saw out of Jefferson through the Tigers’ title run, so this could be a sneaky good pick at this point.

23.) New England: Laviska Shenault Jr., WR, Colorado
Seeing a run of WRs go, New England gets one with huge upside in Shenault. The one problem with the Swiss Army knife is can he stay healthy?

24.) New Orleans Saints: A.J. Epenesa, EDGE, Iowa
New Orleans stops his slide and remembers it’s tape that matters and not the combine.

25.) Minnesota Vikings: Josh Jones, OT, Houston
Vikings are one of many teams that could use LT help and they are more than happy to see Jones sitting here.

26.) Miami Dolphins: Yetur Gross-Matos, EDGE, Penn State
Miami went offense with its first two picks so it’s time to address the defense and snap up the last top tier edge rusher.

27.) Seattle Seahawks: Ezra Cleveland, OT, Boise State
Please someone help Russ Wilson from running for his life. Enter Ezra!

28.) Baltimore Ravens: Patrick Queen, LB, LSU
Queen fell a bit in this draft so the Ravens go best player available and add to their once-dominant defense.

29.) Tennessee Titans: Austin Jackson, OT, USC
Jackson tops the next group of tackles after the big four. Whether it's Ryan Tannehill or someone else behind center, locking up an already strong suit of theirs.

30.) Green Bay Packers: Denzel Mims, WR, Baylor
Mims destroyed the combine and now he can destroy the NFL with Aaron Rodgers tossing him the rock.

31.) San Francisco 49ers: Trevon Diggs, CB, Alabama
A very athletic corner with good bloodlines (Stefon Diggs' little brother). He has all the tools to add to an already stout defense.

32.) Kansas City Chiefs: Bryce Hall, CB, Virginia
Chiefs' offense is clearly set for the foreseeable future. Hall gives them a legit corner to help battle teams that are playing catch-up.
