About 40% of registered voters have cast their ballots in Erie County.
County Executive Mark Poloncarz said the county received about 70,000 mail-in ballots.
The Erie County Board of Elections said that's in addition to nearly 168,000 people who took advantage of the nine-day early voting period.
More than 16,000 of those early ballots were cast Sunday, the last day of early voting.
Poloncarz said the county is expecting a big turnout Tuesday, and thanked everyone who has taken advantage of early voting.
"We’ve always voted, since we've been 18,” said Jim Kasprzak of South Buffalo. “Always voted and always will, you know it's important. It's a civic duty for everybody."
All polling places will be open on Election Day Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
