If you need a good sample size from a prospect at the college level, then Josh Jacobs may be a tough sell, with just 251 carries over three years at Alabama.

However, Jacobs averages nearly six yards per tote, making the most of those limited opportunities.

"I kind of let the film speak for itself. I ain't have a lot of carries or nothing like that,” he said. “But if you look at the production and what I did when I was in the game, it kind of speaks for itself. So I just let it do that."

Jacobs is making a mark beyond running the ball, averaging nearly 12 yards per reception with five TDs in three years, plus over nearly 29 yards per kick return, good for third all-time in ‘Bama history.

"Versatility. Whether it's catching the ball, blocking, running the ball, even special teams,” he said of what he brings to the table. “Just the amount of things that I do."

Jacobs brings ideal running back size — 5 feet, 10 inches and 220 pounds — but speed is not his thing, reportedly running in the mid-4.6 range in the 40-yard dash at his pro day. Still, Jacobs is widely expected to be the first back off the board sometime in round one.
