New York State Police shot and killed a suspect in Delhi on Friday morning.

Police say Roger Lynch shot a man in the town Thursday evening, left the scene and drove to his home on State Route 28. As Lynch pulled into his driveway, he allegedly shot at state police who were responding to the incident, barricaded himself in his home and then spent the night speaking with state police as they tried to de-escalate the situation.

Around 7 a.m., police say Lynch came onto his porch and pointed a shotgun at troopers. That's when he was shot and killed by troopers on the scene.

No members of the state police were injured, and the man Lynch allegedly shot Thursday night was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
