Steuben County's health department has launched an online portal for reporting at-home COVID-19 test results, according to the county's public health education coordinator Monday.
The portal can be found on both the Steuben County website as well as the Steuben County Public Health Department page. The portal is designed to make it quick and easy for at-home testers to report their results to the county, as some concerns grow about whether or not people will alert local health departments to any positive results they may receive.
“Home tests are a great tool for residents that offer quick results,” said Public Health Director, Darlene Smith. “We now have an easy way for residents to report their positive home tests and get isolation orders.”
The portal asks for basic demographics, including vaccination status, an uploaded photo of a positive test result, and a place to add household contacts.
Beyond the portal, at-home testers are encouraged to call the Steuben Public Health Department at 607-664-2438 to report any positive results.
