A Binghamton staple could soon be shutting its doors and a developer already has plans for the site.

"Number Five Restaurant," which opened back in 1978 is for currently up for sale. Early plans call for a new convenient store, gas station and bank on the property.

The building itself, which is a historic fire station will not be torn down. Developer Brett Pritchard plans to turn it into office spaces.

The sale is expected to close next month, but the restaurant will remain open until then.
