The Binghamton City School District is now at the center of a federal lawsuit over an alleged strip search.
Four 12-year-old black girls claimed they were strip searched for drugs at East Middle School back in January. The suit was filed by the NAACP Legal Defense Fund.
It also names the board of education and other school leaders, claiming racial bias played a role in the search.
According to the school district, an internal investigation found no evidence that a strip search happened.
