Remember the hit movie "Cannonball Run" from 1981?
It chronicled the real-life underground and illegal cross-country road race happening in America.
Drivers souped up their best sports cars and raced all the way from New York City to California.
In 1983, 21st Century Pools and Spas Owner Bob Sullivan took part in the race with his partner, CR Lee.
"I invited a few of my friends to participate," Lee said. "And I actually took them out for a test ride and several of them were squeamish when you get into the 100 miles per hour for any length of time, except for Bob who at more than 100 miles per hour, he kept saying, 'is this as fast as it will go?'"
A new documentary titled "The Secret Race Across America" looks back on that infamous 1983 race.
Sullivan and Lee appeared in the film.
"It was really exciting because it was a long time ago and over three decades you kind of forget about the details and all the fun that was involved, but now you get together, we get together with other "Cannonball Run" racers and it brings everything back to the surface," Sullivan said.
"We were able to kind of relive a little of what we did and how we did it and our feeling at the time and speaking with some of the people who have done it recently was really the most exciting," Lee said.
The documentary, narrated by Ice-T, chronicles the record breaking 32 hours and seven minutes it took two men to finish the race.
While Sullivan and Lee finished 4th, they too shattered previous records.
Both men said they'll never forget the experience, even though there were some hiccups along the way.
"We actually got stopped by the cops in New Jersey, 30 miles into the race," Sullivan said. "Didn't get a ticket, and from there, it's adrenaline. We're just pumping."
While they no longer have the original car, Lee restored a replica a few years back.
The documentary drops on iTunes this Saturday.
