The disturbance that brought the clouds today will slowly depart to our east tonight. Skies will stay mostly cloudy tonight as temperatures drop into the lower 70s.
We’ll start the day under clouds tomorrow, but as the weather system pushes further east, we’ll see breaks by the afternoon. As skies become mostly sunny, temperatures will rise into the upper 80s, potentially flirting with the 90-degree mark. St. Louis Lambert Airport hasn’t reached 90 degrees so far this year.
Clouds will increase tomorrow evening ahead of our next weather-maker. Ahead of it, a disturbance passing to our north may clip the region with a spot shower in the evening, but most areas stay dry. Overnight, under clouds, lows will be in the lower 70s.
A weakening cluster of storms will progress east overnight, arriving in our region by daybreak on Wednesday. While not expecting any storms to stay severe, a few showers and rumbles of thunder will be possible during Wednesday’s morning commute. We’ll see a lull midday, ahead of a more potent storm system.
Storms ahead and along the cold front could be severe, with damaging winds, hail and a brief tornado. Timing of the front will be Wednesday evening into the overnight. It’s best to have your notifications enabled, so you are prepared for inclement weather.
