High pressure building north of North Carolina will bring pleasant weather conditions to the state through the rest of this week.  The humidity will be lower and temperatures will be a bit cooler through the last half of the week compared to Tuesday, which was the warmest day so far this year in many areas.

Parts of the state hit 90° for the first time this year.  Fayetteville was the hottest spot in the state with a high of 93°.

Temperatures return to the upper 70s and low 80s for highs Wednesday from the Piedmont to the coast.

Another pleasant day is forecast for Thursday with highs in the 70s over much of North Carolina.

Looking ahead to the weekend, temperatures will begin to warm back into the 80s with higher humidity returning.  Most of the weekend may remain dry.  The chance for afternoon storms Saturday will likely be confined to the mountains and foothills.
