CARY, N.C. - Daniele Proch is playing his first season as a professional soccer player with North Carolina FC. However, when the pandemic halted their season after just one game, Daniele shifted his focus to another passion.

The Duke University graduate started his own blog, NCFC Insider.

"I started to speak with my teammates and I tried to come up with stories that people did not know about," says the 23-year-old. "Not where does he play on the pitch, what does he do off the field, what does he like."

Proch has written articles and has also put together video interviews with fellow teammates and members of the North Carolina Courage women's soccer team.

"I think that if you talk to people, if you let them express what's important to them, there's always a story behind [them]," he admits. You also have to keep in mind the language barrier; Proch is a native Italian.

The NCFC forward acknowledged that since games have started back up, it's been difficult to find time to dedicate to his journalistic endeavors. However, he plans to put more into his blog during the offseason. And whenever he does decide to put the cleats away for good, Daniele already has a second career at the tip of his fingers.
