LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Duke Blue Devils postseason run came to a halt at the hands of Texas Tech on Monday, as the Red Raiders eliminated them from the NCAA baseball tournament by a final score of 6-2.

The defeat ends Duke's campaign one win shy of reaching the College World Series in Omaha this weekend, after making the program's first appearance in a Super Regional.
Duke centerfielder Jimmy Herron did all he could offensively, going 3-for-5, and driving in two runs, but a trio of Red Raiders, Gabe Holt, Michael Davis and Brian Klein would hit home runs to pace Texas Tech (44-18).

Duke had found a way to come back when facing elimination in the NCAA tournament, going 5-0 when faced with the end of their season.
