Kinston's Chris Hawkins  court today for his 2010 arrest for acting as an agent. Hawkins played football at North Carolina from 2001-2003 before he was dismissed for violating team rules.

He is being charged with two misdemeanors under the state's sports agents laws. Hawkins has been accused of inducing former UNC defensive end Robert Quinn to sign a contract with him in order to hire an agent in 2010. According to search warrants, Hawkins gave Quinn over $13,000 in cash while helping him sell game-used equipment that totaled over $1,000.

Quinn is now in the NFL and starts for the St. Louis Rams.

Search warrants also revealed that Hawkins pretended to be an agent and reached out to former UNC defensive back Jabari Price in 2013. On Hawkins' Instagram account, he sent a message to Price asking about representation because he thought the season was over.

Hawkins is also charged with illegally providing gifts and doing it without registration as an official agent with the state. He joins five others already facing similar charges in the scandal. The secured bond has been set for Hawkins at $300,000.
