RALEIGH, N.C. — There’s a good chance you’ve heard of the massively popular video game "Temple Run."
Over two billion people have downloaded the game, worldwide.
The studio behind it all, Imangi Studios in Raleigh, celebrated the game’s 10th anniversary Wednesday.
CEO Walter Devins said Temple Run’s success is astonishing because all of it has been through word of mouth.
"We grew to two billion lowlands without a big marketing campaign, it was all word of mouth. A lot of the other games do marketing campaigns, advertisements online. Ours was word of mouth. Ours was kids in high school or elementary school or middle school saying 'hey did you play what’s your high score.' It really grew that way. It's phenomenal," Devins said.
And stay tuned Temple Run fans, Devins says the company is working on new projects that will be coming out later in the summer, fall and early next year.
