DURHAM, N.C. — Triangle Performance Ensemble is finding a way to bring the theatre to your home while live productions are on hold.

This is the 14th year for the group's Durham Black Nativity. The production usually has over a hundred actors and actresses and draws an audience of 4,000 during a weekend.

"During these times when performing artists don't have a stage to stand on, or to sing on, or to play their music with, this gives a chance to showcase more people," Musical Director Xavier Cason says.

The production is moving entirely online this year. It streams together the best portions of shows from the past.

The director, Wendell Tabb, says even with COVID-19 the group is not stopping its tradition of delivering a fresh show for the audience.

"We want to convey to them that we're not going to shortchange them with the message of Christmas, the real reason for the season," Tabb says.

Durham Black Nativity will be running until December 31. You can get tickets here.
