FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Thirty-one military families awaiting the birth of a child received some help on Saturday thanks to the group Operation Homefront and Proctor and Gamble.

A special drive-thru baby shower was held for them. Gifts like diapers, wipes, powders, and thermometers were distributed.

Due to the pandemic, COVID-19 restrictions were also observed.

Awaiting the arrival of a baby can be challenging for any couple. In a military family however, that challenge can be multiplied because of duty requirements and possible deployments.

Sometimes one spouse also has to be away from home.

An expectant mother awaiting the birth of her first child says the gifts will make a huge difference for her family.

At the end of the year, Operation Homefront is planning a special Holiday Meals for the Military event.
