FORT BRAGG, NC -- Hundreds of soldiers on Fort Bragg showed off their bravery December 3 while jumping out of aircraft high in the sky.
It's all for Presents from Paratroopers. The event is similar to Operation Toy Drop which allows soldiers to donate toys to kids who are less fortunate.
The annual event was cancelled in 2018 due to a lack of resources. Officials decided to keep the tradition going on a smaller scale. Now about 1,000 paratroopers participate and partner with various organizations throughout the state.
"It's a win-win," Maj Timothy Crawley with the 82nd Airborne Division on Fort Bragg said. "It's great for the paratroopers to be able to have a good esprit de corps, it's good for them to be able to train with partnered nations but it's also great because it's a good excuse for us to be able to give back to the community."
The soldiers continue jumping until December 5, the same day the toys are distributed.
