You may want to make most of your weekend plans indoors. Low pressure that will slowly move up the Carolina coast from Friday through Saturday will make for wet, windy, and cold conditions.
Mostly light rain is expected off and on through the day Friday. That will keep temperatures in the 40s all day.
The winds will pick up through the afternoon as the low pressure intensifies off the coast. That will create gusts up to 25mph by late afternoon and gusts up to 35mph Friday night through Saturday.
Wind chills will drop to the 30s Friday night and stay in the 30s all day Saturday.
Rain is expected to continue off and on Sunday with the chilly and windy conditions.
Rainfall totals should range between a half inch and an inch and half from near Raleigh to Fayetteville. Higher totals are expected near the coast where up to five inches could fall. Low totals are forecast north and northwest of Raleigh.
The rain should finally wrap up by Sunday morning as the low pressure system moves away from the coast.
Sunday will still be a mostly cloudy, breezy, and chilly day. Highs will top out in the low 40s. Wind chills will be in the 30s to low 40s all day.
