CHATHAM COUNTY, N.C. -- About 30 protesters, both for and against the removal of a Confederate statue gathered in downtown Pittsboro on Saturday.
- Richard Allen of Pittsboro and Thalia Considnie of Durham were arrested for disorderly conduct
- Considnie was also arrested for carrying a concealed weapon, as was Jessica Reavis of Danville, Virginia
- The statue is now declared public trespass and will be taken down by November 1

All three were released on written promises to appear and will be court on November 6.
The protesters started gathering at around 10 a.m.
The demonstration happened less than a week after the United Daughters of the Confederacy missed a deadline to submit a removal plan for the statue.
The statue is now declared public trespass and will be taken down by November 1.
