WARREN COUNTY, N.C. – Faith Hedgepeth's family is in the middle of another year with no arrests in her death.

• Faith Hedgepeth was found dead in her Chapel Hill apartement in 2012
• Those who loved her say they believe she's keeping an eye on them from afar
• Her family holds a scholarship fundraiser that will give money to Native American women going to college

Hedgepeth was the University of North Carolina student who was found dead in her Chapel Hill apartment in 2012. Family and friends say the years are passing, but the pain of her loss is not.

“If only it was just a dream. I wish it was,” Lula Perdue said. She was a friend of Hedgepeth.

“It's unreal that it was seven years ago. It seems like yesterday,” Faith’s sister, Rolanda Hedgepeth said.

Time has passed and new life has come into the Hedgepeth family and Faith isn't there to witness the changes. Those who loved her say they believe she's keeping an eye on them from afar.

“We still feel her presence in so many ways. It's all these little ways. Some things I see or hear things that remind me of Faith,” her brother Chadwick Hedgepeth said.

Family and friends do community service to keep her name, love, and case in the front of the minds of people in Chapel Hill, Warrenton, and beyond. They also know that she'd want to help others.

That's why her family holds a scholarship fundraiser that will give money to Native American women going to college. The love and "faith" of Hedgepeth lives on in and through those who loved her.
