DURHAM, N.C. – A man is recovering after a tree pinned him nearly 60 feet in the air.

The victim was working on trimming trees on the 2200 block of North Oak Ridge Blvd. when a tree pinned his leg. This resulted in him being stuck in the tree he was working on.

Durham fire officials removed the tree from his leg and got him to safety.

Durham Fire Division Chief Dan Cremeans says "They set up the ladder truck, cut some branches away from the tree and were able to use a pair of electronic spreaders to push the other tree off his leg.”

The victim is recovering at Duke ED this evening.
