RALEIGH, N.C. -- Crowds of people were drawn to a watch party at the Morgan Street Food Hall Saturday to watch a local vendor on the national stage.

Curry In A Hurry competed on Food Network's "Family Restaurant Rivalry".

Those who came to the food hall got to taste some of the dishes they made.

The owners spoke with Spectrum News about what the experience was like showcasing their food on a national stage.

"Three families competing in two rounds for their favorite dish from their restaurant or from their childhood. And then one was eliminated in round one and then the other two went into the championship round to win $10,000," they said.

Although Curry in a Hurry was out in the first round, one of the judges says their shrimp curry was the best he'd ever tasted.
