RALEIGH, N.C. -- The vice chancellor at North Carolina State University has resigned.

  • The university announced Thursday afternoon Dr. Mike Mullen's last day will be Friday.
  • His resignation comes after the College Republicans of NC State called for it, stating "continued insolence and insulting rhetoric".
  • They said he's compared conservatives and Republicans to "neo-nazis", "alt-right crazies", and "KKK members".

Dr. Mullen has served as the university's vice chancellor and dean for Academic and Student Affairs since 2012.

There's no word on who will replace him.
