RALEIGH, N.C. -- A new initiative is being endorsed by the governor called Teach NC.
- It's a website for people who are interested in becoming a teacher, including those in high school, college students, and even those already in a career.
- The site walks people through getting their license, what steps they need to take, and how it will change their life.
- Leaders say they have critical vacancies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects.
It's a website for people who are interested in becoming a teacher, including those in high school, college students, and even those already in a career.
The site walks people through getting their license, what steps they need to take, and how it will change their life. It even directs them to teachers like Matt Scialdone who gives real-life experience to those interested.
"Sadly a lot of times people hear a lot of negative messages about becoming a teacher. I'm hoping to counter-balance that. I want to share with them the fulfillment every day being a teacher," said Scialdone.
Leaders say they have critical vacancies in science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects. They're hoping this will encourage people to enter the teaching profession.
