RALEIGH, N.C. -- Thousands of people flocked to downtown Raleigh this weekend for one of the biggest fan fiction events of the year.

Galaxycon is a festival that hosts workshops, comedy, tournaments, and costume competitions. Hundreds could be seen walking around in some of their favorite character outfits, and fans like Tessa Weddle say it's a way to get into the spirit of the event.

"It's great, I haven't been to a convention in about five years. This is a really good way to come back. I've been getting a lot of compliments which makes me feel really amazing," said Weddle.

The event also hosted celebrities like Leslie Baker from "The Office".

"It's wonderful being here and getting to meet the fans. As you know, for nine years we were on a closed set so we didn't get to see the fans and today we get to come here and meet people and see them from all over the place. We're grateful for that," said Baker.

The event lasted four days, ending on Sunday.
